Beneficiaries receiving treatment at the event
As part of efforts to promote community care, the Beautiful Garden Global Ministry, House of Glory, on Saturday organised a one-day medical outreach for the residents of Ifelodun Valley community to flag off the church’s Annual Harvest thanksgiving service.
Different foodstuff was distributed to attendees at the event. The gesture was open to all, including men, women and the youths.
The initiative is targeted at reaching about 300 individuals in the area with various forms of support.
Speaking on the outreach, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Nniga Collins, said the initiative was part of the church’s ongoing corporate social responsibility effort aimed at supporting vulnerable groups.
He added that the intervention became pertinent to ease the hardship faced by low-income families who struggle to access basic necessities.
The cleric said, “This humanitarian gesture reflects our commitment to alleviating the plight of the most vulnerable in our society. It is our way of giving back to the society –under our arm of corporate social responsibility and we are grateful to impact lives in this manner.
“There are many people whose health requires check but they won’t access medical facilities to have their health checked. For such people, we have organises this initiative as a form of helping hands. It is a program the church has decided to do yearly to impact her community.”
He added that the church would expands its reach coming year to support more vulnerable people in need with a focus on promoting a happier, more inclusive, and more resilient society.
The outreach featured medical consultations, distribution of essential supplies, and community engagement sessions, drawing hundreds of beneficiaries.
He added: “This is our first time of engaging this community and one of the aims is for people to experience Christ, know about the kingdom of God and their health status.
Also speaking at the event, a Community Health Worker, Ifako Ijaiye Primary Health Centre, Mrs Temitayo Jayeoba said, the screening cut across blood pressure, Sugar level, body mass etc.
She explained that the exercise was crucial to assist vulnerable people with report on their health status and provide medical assistance where necessary.
She called on the government to assist in championing initiatives that would boost the general well-being to Nigerians.
Also, a pharmacist with the LGS Pharmaceuticals, Joy Ogbeide, commended the effort of the organiser, adding that “health care is a collective responsibility of all Nigerians”.
She said, “I commend the effort of the organiser and I believe those that participated were indeed fortunate.
“We have screened for hepatitis, sugar level, malaria etc and so far, the screening exercise, we noticed that high blood pressure is predominant, hence, with the medical team on ground, we are able to curb and assist the residents to a large extend that we can.
“Health care is everybody responsibility. Health is key. When you are healthy, you’re wealthy and you don’t fall sick. Ifelodun residents should ensure a cleaner environment is maintained. This is germane for a healthy living. Eating balance diet is also a necessity.”
Also, a Nurse, Rita Akpan said the gesture was inspired by the need to give back to the community and demonstrate the love of Christ to all, irrespective of status, faith or nationality.
She added that the outreach aimed to encourage Nigerians to prioritise regular medical checks.

“We want Nigerians to understand that their health is important. The free medical screening will help improve lifestyles and strengthen the healthcare system,” She said.
Beneficiaries of the programme commended the initiative, describing it as timely, especially in a period of rising costs of healthcare services.
One of them, an exco of Abiodun Falake’s Group, Ward D, Mr Tunde Tijani, hailed the organisers for such an initiative, adding that, “the initiative is timely and it will help the community members. I encourage the organiser to do more and we as a community appreciate them.
“The intervention no doubt will save residents the huge expenses of accessing healthcare facilities and the gesture have enabled residents to know their health status following the free medical consultations and treatment,” he added.
He urged Ifelodun community residents to always see their health as crucial.
