*NULGE Sets Sights on Progress
A new dawn has emerged for the workers of Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state as they formally inaugurated the newly elected executives of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Akoko Edo Chapter on Tuesday.
The inauguration ceremony, held recently at the local government headquarters, was attended by union members, labour leaders, and invited guests from within and outside the council.
The event followed the successful conduct of the union’s election, which was described as peaceful and credible.
The inauguration signaled the official handover of responsibilities to the new executives, who were charged with the task of promoting the welfare and interests of local government employees in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Comrade Alabi Kingsley, commended the members for the trust and confidence bestowed on him and his team.
He promised to make the union more inclusive and responsive to its members’ needs.
He, however, emphasised his commitment to an open-doors policy, ensuring that every member feels heard and valued.
He said, “NULGE is not just an organization, it’s a family. I am committed to boosting our members’ welfare and promoting unity among us.
“My administration would operate an open-door policy and remain committed to protecting workers’ rights, improving welfare, and fostering unity within the union,” he assured.
Under Alabi’s leadership, NULGE aims to tackle pressing issues like job security, training, and better working conditions.
He urged members to work together to drive progress and build a stronger union for a meaningful growth and development of workers and the state.
Comrade Alabi underscored the need for dialogue and cooperation between the union and local government authorities, noting that, “mutual understanding is key to achieving industrial harmony and improved service delivery.”
He called on union members to support the new administration to enable it to deliver on its mandate.
NULGE Sets Sights on Progress
As NULGE sets its sights on progress, members are optimistic about the future. “We’re excited to see positive changes,” said a member. “Comrade Alabi’s vision aligns with our aspirations.”
The inauguration which was peaceful end on a solidarity note, and renewed commitment as members drummed and pledged their support for the new leadership.
With the new executives now in place, expectations are high that NULGE in Akoko Edo Local Government Area will witness positive transformation and stronger advocacy for the wellbeing of its members.
“The union’s future looks brighter, thanks to Alabi’s leadership and commitment to progress,” a member said.

The new leadership inaugurated at the ceremony and their designation includes; The chairman, Comrade Alabi Kingsley, Vice chairman, Comrade Monday Alex; Treasurer, Comrade Shaibu Joseph Bayo; Secretary, Comrade Udukhomose Patient; Assistant Secretary, Comrade Adebayo Onikoyi Olajumoke; Woman Wings, Comrade Ade- Ajayi Rosemary Bose, Trustee, Comrade Ajeh Adura; Young worker, Comrade Oba Japhet; Auditor, Comrade Enakhena Juliet.
