
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, have highlighted the importance of advanced technologies and regional collaboration in tackling terrorism and transnational crime in Africa. At the 4th African Air Forces Forum held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, both leaders stressed the urgency for technological advancement and cooperative defence strategies.
Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, representing Governor Sanwo-Olu, commended the Nigerian Air Force for uniting African air power and technology experts. Minister Badaru emphasized the collective duty to counter cross-border threats, citing groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP. He advocated for a technologically advanced Nigerian Air Force and meaningful collaborations across Africa.
Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, stated that the forum fosters unity, cooperation, and progress for African air security.
